It did take a little effort to figure out the install, but not too bad. However, I am having troubles with the sync'ing now. Many times the active-sync (push) doesn't work and I have to manually press sync, and I have to press it two to four times. I checked my provider, but they had no solutions. I will live with it for now.
Thank you for fixing the issue with Cingular 650 phones. I downloaded the previous version and had issues. NOW IT WORKS GREAT!
Fantastic. Works as advertised. Install instructions would have been nice. I love the Global Address Lookup. So nice to have all my company email addresses.
This works on EAS with Microsoft MSFP enabled. My Treo 650 worked for a long time with standard EAS configuration, but as soon as my works Exchange Admins enabled the Microsoft MSFP it stopped working. Thought I was stuck with no solution except to spend a whole lot of money to get a new phone until this patch came along. Well worth it cheap investment compared to a new phone. You have to have the Versamail 3.5 too.
I am rating this patch with 4 stars for several reasons. First of all, the patch works! With a little work I was able to install VersaMail 3.5, import a private cert, and run this patch. However, I agree documentation sucks, I had no idea you needed to load the patch from the menu to apply it, but it may originate from my naive understanding of the Palm OS. Second, I donâ¿¿t need to buy a new phone and can hold onto my 650 just a little bit longer until a valid reason to upgrade comes along, or my 650 kicks the bucket. Finally, this patch will save a tremendous amount of battery life. There have been so many meetings where I was constantly synchronizing my pone in anticipation of an email, only to drain my battery.
Works as advertised! I have had some instances where selecting an e-mail address from an Exchange global catalog search would cause my 650 to reboot. This could be due to a 3rd party app, though. Some installation instructions would be nice, so here they are: 1. Install Versamail 3.5 via HotSync. 2. Install EAS Update via HotSync. 3. Find the EAS Update PRC (probably under "Unfiled") and run it to actually install on your device. 4. Run Versamail and sync with your Exchange server. Push mail and global catalog searches will now work.
I've installed the Versamail update to 3.5 and this ActiveSynch update. As a result I cannot select the "As items arrive" option in the Auto Sync menu, as displayed here. No user documentation for this product to explain why it wouldn't appear, so I'm dead in the water. Not much to rate, so 1 star is being generous.
